Fever Diet

🅐 – Amla (Indian Gooseberry)

Properties:

  • Tridosha balancing (especially Pitta)

  • Vitamin C rich

  • Boosts immunity

  • Mildly cooling but safe in controlled use

Preparation:

  1. Take 1 fresh amla.

  2. Steam lightly for 3–4 minutes.

  3. Crush and mix with warm water.

  4. Add 1 pinch dry ginger powder.

Consumption Time:

  • Morning empty stomach (if no nausea)

  • Or mid-morning

Avoid Combining With:

  • Milk

  • Curd


🅑 – Barley Water (Yava Jala)

Properties:

  • Light (Laghu)

  • Reduces fever-related heaviness

  • Good for dehydration

Preparation:

  1. 1 tbsp barley

  2. Boil in 3 cups water

  3. Reduce to 1.5 cups

  4. Strain and serve warm

Consumption Time:

  • Throughout the day (small sips)

Can Combine With:

  • Few drops lemon (if no throat irritation)

  • Pinch rock salt

Avoid:

  • Mixing with milk


🅒 – Cumin Water (Jeera Jala)

Properties:

  • Improves digestion

  • Reduces bloating

  • Stimulates weak Agni

Preparation:

  1. ½ tsp cumin seeds

  2. Boil in 1 cup water

  3. Reduce to ¾ cup

Consumption:

  • After meals

  • 2 times daily

Avoid:

  • Excess use in high Pitta fever


🅓 – Diluted Moong Dal Soup

Properties:

  • Light protein

  • Easy digestion

  • Non-gas forming

Preparation:

  1. 2 tbsp yellow moong dal

  2. Pressure cook with 2 cups water

  3. Mash and strain

  4. Add pinch turmeric + cumin

Consumption:

  • Lunch

  • Early dinner (before 7 PM)

Avoid:

  • Adding ghee in high fever stage


🅔 – Elaichi (Cardamom) Infusion

Properties:

  • Reduces nausea

  • Pleasant aroma

  • Balances Pitta

Preparation:

  1. Crush 1 cardamom

  2. Boil in 1 cup water

Time:

  • After vomiting tendency


🅕 – Fresh Coconut Water

Properties:

  • Natural electrolyte

  • Cooling

  • Hydrating

Use Only:

  • In mild fever

  • Not in chills stage

Time:

  • Mid-morning

Avoid:

  • Night consumption


🅖 – Ginger Water

Properties:

  • Reduces Ama

  • Improves digestion

  • Good in cold-type fever
