🌿 AYURVEDIC ULCER CARE DIET (A–Z)

Focus: Reduce Pitta 🔥, soothe stomach lining, promote tissue healing (Rasa & Rakta Dhatu support)


🅰 A – Amla (Indian Gooseberry)

Benefits:

  • Pitta pacifier

  • Natural Vitamin C but cooling in nature

  • Heals gastric mucosa

  • Reduces acidity & burning

Preparation:

  • Fresh amla juice diluted with water

  • Amla powder ½ tsp with warm water

  • Amla murabba (less sugar version)

Consumption Time:
Morning empty stomach OR mid-morning

Combination:
✔ With honey
✔ With warm water
✘ Avoid with milk
✘ Avoid with spicy meals


🅱 B – Banana (Ripe Nendran / Elaichi banana)

Benefits:

  • Coats stomach lining

  • Reduces acid irritation

  • Good for gastric & duodenal ulcers

Preparation:

  • Fully ripe only

  • Mashed banana with small ghee drop

Consumption Time:
Breakfast or mid-morning

Combination:
✔ With soaked raisins
✔ With warm milk (if digestion allows)
✘ Avoid with sour fruits
✘ Avoid at night (if Kapha dominant)


🅲 C – Coconut Water

Benefits:

  • Natural coolant

  • Reduces Pitta

  • Hydrates gastric tissues

Preparation:
Fresh tender coconut only

Consumption Time:
10 AM – 12 Noon

Combination:
✔ Alone only
✘ Do NOT mix with meals
✘ Do NOT mix with milk


🅳 D – Dates (Soaked)

Benefits:

  • Nourishes tissues

  • Reduces weakness from ulcer bleeding

  • Mildly cooling

Preparation:
Soak 2–3 dates overnight

Consumption Time:
Morning after breakfast

Combination:

  • Reduces acidity

  • Calms burning sensation

  • Improves digestion without increasing Pitta

Preparation:
Powder pinch in warm milk

After meals

🅵 F – Fennel Seeds (Saunf)

  • Relieves bloating

  • Reduces ulcer pain

Preparation:
Boil 1 tsp in water – make tea

Consumption Time:
After lunch & dinner

✔ With cumin

  • Lubricates tissues

  • Best ulcer healer in Ayurveda

Preparation:
Add ½–1 tsp to warm rice

Consumption Time:
Lunch preferred

Combination:
✔ With rice
✔ With wheat porridge
✘ Avoid with honey (equal quantity rule)


🅷 H – Honey (Raw, small quantity)

Benefits:

  • Natural wound healer

  • Reduces inflammation

Preparation:
1 tsp in lukewarm water

Consumption Time:
Morning or evening

Combination:
✔ With amla
✘ Never heat honey
✘ Never equal quantity with ghee


🅸 I – Idli (Soft Fermented Rice Cake)

  • Light & easy digestion

  • Soft on stomach

Preparation:
Plain idli (less sour batter)

Breakfast

✔ With coconut chutney (no chilli)

Jeera water (boiled)

Rice + yellow moong dal
Add turmeric + ghee
No chilli

Avoid:

  • Chips

  • Fried snacks

  • Dry roasted items


🆈 Y – Yogurt (Avoid in Acute Ulcer)

If used:
Diluted buttermilk only


🆉 Z – Zeera Buttermilk

Diluted curd
Add roasted cumin
Afternoon only

6 AM – Warm jeera water
8 AM – Soft breakfast (idli / oats)
10 AM – Coconut water
1 PM – Rice + ghee + lauki / khichdi
4 PM – Fennel tea
7 PM – Rice gruel / vegetable soup
9 PM – Warm milk with turmeric
