Xeroderma (Dry Skin) Diet

🌿 A–Z Diet Plan for Xeroderma (Ayurvedic)


🅰️ A – Amla (Indian Gooseberry)

Properties: Rasayana, Vitamin C rich, skin rejuvenator

Preparation:
• Amla juice (20 ml fresh)
• Amla murabba (1 piece)
• Amla powder ½ tsp with warm water

Consumption Time:
Morning empty stomach (juice)

Join With:
✔ Honey (if no diabetes) + ✔ Warm water – ❌ Avoid with milk


🅱️ B – Badam (Almonds)

Properties: Snigdha (unctuous), builds Ojas

Preparation:
• Soak 5 almonds overnight
• Peel and grind into paste
• Mix in warm milk

Consumption Time:
Morning (6–8 AM)

Join With:
✔ Turmeric pinch + ✔ Cow ghee ½ tsp – ❌ Avoid raw dry almonds


🅲 C – Coconut (Tender & Oil)

Properties: Cooling, hydrating

Preparation:
• Tender coconut water
• Coconut chutney with ghee
• Coconut oil 1 tsp in food

Consumption Time:
Mid-morning

Join With:
✔ Jaggery (small amount)
❌ Avoid at night


🅳 D – Dates (Khajur)

Properties: Blood nourishing, improves dryness

Preparation:
• Soak 2–3 dates in milk
• Boil and drink

Consumption Time:
Evening (4–6 PM)

Join With:
✔ Cardamom
✔ Ghee


🅴 E – Elaichi (Cardamom)

Preparation:
Add powder in milk or kheer

Time:
After meals

Benefit:
Improves digestion of oily foods


🅵 F – Figs (Anjeer)

Preparation:
Soak 2 figs overnight
Eat morning

Benefit:
Improves bowel movement (dry skin linked to constipation)


🅶 G – Ghee (Cow Ghee)

⭐ MOST IMPORTANT

Preparation:
• 1 tsp melted in warm rice
• Add in dal
• Ghee in milk at night

Time:
Lunch + bedtime

Join With:
✔ Turmeric
✔ Warm milk
❌ Never with cold foods


🅷 H – Herbal Soups

Examples:
• Carrot soup
• Pumpkin soup
• Bottle gourd soup

Preparation:
Cook with ghee + jeera + black pepper

Time:
Dinner (light warm soup)


🅸 I – Isabgol (If Constipation)

½ tsp in warm water at night


🅹 J – Jeera (Cumin)

Boil in water (Jeera water)

Morning warm drink

Improves Agni (digestion)


🅺 K – Khichdi

Rice + Moong dal + ghee

Preparation:
Cook soft
Add turmeric + jeera

Time:
Lunch

Best Vata pacifying food


🅻 L – Lauki (Bottle Gourd)

Cook with ghee + mild spices

Lunch vegetable

Hydrating effect


🅼 M – Milk (Warm Cow Milk)

Boiled with:
• Turmeric
• Almond paste
• Dates

Time:
Night (9 PM)

❌ Avoid with sour fruits


🅽 N – Nuts Mix

Soaked walnuts + almonds

Morning

Avoid dry roasted nuts


🅾 O – Oats (Warm Oat Porridge)

Cook in milk
Add ghee + dates

Breakfast option

Avoid dry oats


🅿 P – Pumpkin

Sweet taste
Vata calming

Cook with ghee


🆀 Q – Quinoa (Optional modern substitute)

Cook soft
Add ghee

Only if suits digestion


🆁 R – Rice (Old rice preferred)

Soft cooked
Add ghee

Lunch main food


🆂 S – Sesame (Til)

Til laddu with jaggery

Good for skin lubrication

Avoid excess in summer


🆃 T – Turmeric

½ tsp in milk

Anti-inflammatory


🆄 U – Urad Dal

Good for dryness but heavy

Use occasionally

Cook with ghee


🆅 V – Vegetable Stews

Cooked, warm, slightly oily

Avoid raw salads


🆆 W – Warm Water

Sip whole day

Avoid cold water


🆇 X – Xeroderma Special Drink

Warm milk

  • 1 tsp ghee

  • pinch turmeric

  • cardamom

Night tonic


🆈 Y – Yava (Barley)

Use moderately

Too much increases dryness

Balance with ghee


🆉 Z – Zucchini (Modern equivalent of soft gourds)

Cooked warm
Add cumin + ghee

🍚 Lunch

• Rice + Moong dal
• Lauki / Pumpkin
• 1 tsp ghee

☕ Evening

• Dates milk
• Fig

🌙 Night

• Warm milk + ghee
• Light vegetable soup


🚫 FOODS TO AVOID

• Dry snacks
• Bakery items
• Excess tea/coffee
• Cold drinks
• Raw salads
• Fried food
• Excess spicy food


🌿 ADDITIONAL AYURVEDIC SUPPORT

✔ Abhyanga (oil massage) with sesame oil
